Inline Lever/Lever
A lever door handle is a modern handle that can be put in on replacement or new doors. This kind door handle is available in a variety of styles & finishes. A number of manufacturers offer this handle including Avocet, ERA, Fullex, Hoppe, Mila, Millenco & Yale.
Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle
The uPVC/Composite handles are made of tough materials and are ideal for doors with multiple points that need a heavy-duty design. The handles are inline and they utilize the same screws and spindle to fix them. They can be easily installed on new or existing uPVC/Composite doors.
The design of the sprung lever allows the handle to be set and angled for comfortable operation and is suitable for all users. The handle has been tested for endurance up to 200,000 cycles. This helps ensure that the quality of finish and performance over time. The sprung lever is also adjustable to accommodate a wide range of locks. This is particularly useful for narrower doors where the cylinder is situated further away from the door. A shorter lever can be used for doors with a latch that can be activated with the thumb located on the inside.
Lever Pad
The lever pad upvc handle differs from the lever handles that are commonly found on doors. These handle types are either operated by one spindle, or two spindles inline or offset. They are generally used on UPVC double-glazed doors and come in many variations & finishes.
The handles are available in various finishes, including White, Chrome and Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and is resistant to rust. This provides the handle with the best performance and durability for the purpose it was designed for.

All UPVC lever pads for handles come with a spindle, screws and can be mounted on the uPVC door. The backplate fixation centres of 211mm permit a larger handle, which is typically beneficial when replacing an old or damaged multi-point door lock mechanism. The handle levers come with springs, which eliminate the issue of door handles that sag out of their horizontal position when not being used.
When choosing the replacement UPVC handle and spindle it is essential to match the dimensions of the PZ on the multipoint lock as well as the uPVC door. This measurement is also called 'handle centre or cylinder centre'. It is important for matching the correct handles.
When you have the right PZ size you will then have to ensure that the handle lever pads and push pads are of a appropriate shape to accommodate the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) compatible handles you require for your doors. These are typically round or square with an internal lever and an external push pad.
Most of the UPVC lever pads we sell are sprung, meaning that they return to their horizontal position when not in use, rather than hanging out and possibly securing in the frame. This keeps draughts out of the building. The majority of UPVC lever pad style handles come in both left and right handed versions, allowing them to be placed on either side of doors.
Euro Cylinder
Cylinder locks are usually found on uPVC doors, but they can also be found on other types of doors. The cylinder lock operates with a key that unlocks the cylinder case. This exposes pins that can be aligned with the pins in the lock and allow them to turn the revolving camera, opening the door. Euro cylinders are available with up to six pins. Internal and external doors require different levels of security.
Choosing the right cylinder is crucial; it is dependent on how your doors and handle are utilized. External doors, for instance, should be fitted with cylinders that are more secure and doors inside can be secured with the standard cylinder. Additionally, certain cylinders have extra features that increase security further, such as anti-drill or anti-bump features.
To ensure that the euro cylinder is of the right size for your door, it should be measured correctly. The cylinder should be measured from the hole in the center of the fixing screw to the end of the cylinder including the thumb turn if you have one. If you are unable measure it using the lock in a fixed position, you can take it out of it. A cylinder that is protruding beyond the handle and escutcheon may be vulnerable to attacks such as lock snapping, so it is essential that it is not too long.
The design of many modern cylinders has anti-drilling and bump resistance features. They are designed to decrease the chances of an attack by forcing the cylinder rotate in the opposite direction. This will help to deflect an attack and protect your door.
Some cylinders are designed to withstand snapping. This is a common occurrence on cylinders. A special tool is used to break the break line of the lock and then the front of cylinder is snapped off. This is faster and easier to achieve than gaining access through multipoint locks. It also leaves no evidence of a burglary, which can impede the insurance claim.
Spring Cassette
The spring cassette is located within the base of the door handle backplate providing a sprung solution to return your multipoint lock handles to their original position after usage. These handles used to have no spring and would droop when the locking mechanism was disconnected. This simple feature is one of the best ways to correct this issue and is an excellent way to stop your upvc doors from getting stuck in an open or closed position, as they aren't always simple to close manually.
These spring cassettes are specifically designed to be used with multipoint locks sprung but they won't work with unsprung multipoint handles and you will need to have a custom hole cut into the backplate to allow them to fit (please see image for technical diagram). They are a replacement for existing damaged or missing cassettes inside the backplate of the door handle for many brands of uPVC doors. They are available as a single unit. They have a square-cut out that accommodates an 8mm shaft.
These spring cassettes offer an excellent value solution for the problem of door handles that are sagging. They are simple to put in and will extend the lifespan of your uPVC doors.
